Six arrested after fight at Wenonah HS

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Four adults and two students were arrested Tuesday morning after a fight at Wenonah High School.

Birmingham police were called to the school around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday after a report of a fight and an injury. Sgt. Johnny Williams said the incident began when two female students got into an argument in a classroom. About the same time, several parents showed up at the school and went directly to the classroom. Sgt. Williams said the principal calmed everyone down, but on the way to the principal's office, one of the students stabbed a parent in the head with a pen.

Sgt. Williams said the adult was treated for non-life threatening injuries. All of the students and adults were in police custody.

Sgt. Williams described the incident as "isolated" while Birmingham City Schools spokesperson Michelle Chapman described it as "minor."
